WordPress Essentials

In this 4 week class, you will learn how to manage a website in WordPress.  If you have an existing WordPress site,  you’ll be able to take it to the next level.  If you have a non-Wordpress site or an idea for a new site, you’ll be able to develop a plan to create and take control of your site in WordPress.

Class Agenda

Week 1:  Define the objectives and purpose of your site and plan for design and content; learn how WordPress Themes are used to create your design, and how the theme and WordPress database system work together to organize your content.

Week 2: Customizing wordpress with plugins and widgets.  We’ll also discuss more advanced customization using custom functions and custom CSS.

Week 3:  Search Engine Optimization basics, from researching keywords to using tools provided by WordPress Themes and/or Plugins to manage on page SEO.  We’ll discuss how you can use Google Analytics and other tools for future keyword research, along with WordPress tools to manage ongoing SEO work.

Week 4: Launching, maintaining, and marketing your site.

Pricing:

WordPress Essentials is included as part of the Website Workshop Package.  Alternatively, the 4 week course can be purchased on its own for $145, or any individual class may be purchased for $45.
